It wasn't until becoming pregnant that I began to truly understand the power of words, of thought, and of energy.

Though Namesake didn't manifest until about a month or two after my son was born,
I believe it had been conceived long before then.
It's easy to go after anything in life
with only yourself and possibly a spouse to answer to.
However,
the tables turn when a life you create
is then added to that count.
Even in the womb, the child feels what you,
the mother,
feels, and can hear your voice.
They know your sound
long before they are birthed earth side.
All of which means,
Foundation
is layed VERY early.
You can teach children MANY things, as they are capable of MANY things. But nothing is MORE important than teaching them HOW to think.
If I do not rise to the occasion,
Lay hold of my role,
Someone else
will be in charge of the most important thing - their way of thinking
which will influence their way of life.
Even more so,
the place of which words flow from
will either add
or take away all the more.
Do they flow out of a heart that intends
to build?
to increase?
and encourage?
-- Or a heart that intends to extract
and gain selfishly?
These handcrafted books tangibly reflect the belief that we are handmade, relational beings, that come from another realm, having need of assistance in remembering who we Truly are.
My sons book was started before he was born - with mere words
ready to fill pages.
Words will continue to fill the pages
as I hear them.
Then, when he's old enough to begin talking on his own,
we will teach him how to hone in on that voice inside
that will reveal more and more.
Nothing is worse
than going through a rough patch
and not having someone there to remind you
of what you're made of and what you're capable of.
In teaching them how to think we eliminate hardships otherwise detrimentally encountered.
In other words,
They are grounded in who they are.
That identity is not moved by anything
-- good OR bad.
They are able to more easily navigate whatever situation they're in,
and know it is not a reflection
of who they are as a person.
These books are a tangible piece, carefully filled and meant to go with you throughout life.
Available, at will, to flip through the pages,
Etched with hope -- documentation of who you are,
What you're made of,
WHOSE you are,
And that you are,
of most importance,
Loved.
"And the very words you gave to me to speak
I have passed on to them.
They have received your words
and carry them in their hearts..."
